Thank you all for supporting our return to school. We have enjoyed a positive, productive and encouraging September.
For us to continue safely in school I would like to make some changes to collecting pupils from school and remind you of our protocols already in place.
Drop off and Collection
Please do not stand directly outside the gate if possible. This causes needless congregation and blocks the path.
Pleas ensure your child wears a coat to school so they can walk with you or on their own to and from the car. They also need a coat to play on the yard most days from now on. The yard is a great opportunity for our pupils to interact meaningfully with their peers, get fresh air and exercise. They need coats to keep going to the yard in autumn and winter.
Parents are asked no to park near the school. Walking or cycling to school should be encouraged as much as possible. We are asking parents to park on Cuba Avenue or above the school at or near the Church. Please do not park in the bus space.
Any child crossing the main street should do so at the pedestrian crossing or up the street away from the school.
Please try to keep to these times if possible.
8.50 a.m. to 8.55 a.m. The school gate opens for pupils from 6th, 5th, 4th and their siblings if possible.
8.55 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. Pupils from 3rd, 2nd, 1st and their siblings should arrive at this time if possible.
9.00 a.m. Senior Infants who have not been brought by a sibling to arrive.
9.05 a.m. Junior Infants who have not been brought by a sibling to arrive.
1.40 p.m. Senior infants will leave at 1.40 p.m. from the main front door of the school beside the office.
1.45 p.m. Junior infants will leave at 1.45 p.m. from their own door at the tower.
Parents waiting for Infants can space out on the lawn please
2.40 p.m. At 2.40 p.m. 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st will leave.
Please do not wait directly at the gate as this can cause a blockage. Please tell you child that they can re-enter the school grounds if they cannot see you and can wait with us until they are collected.
Thank you for your cooperation.
