From September 2023 we shall begin our implementation of the suggested time allocations detailed in the Primary Curriculum Framework.

The School Day

Our school day begins at 9 a.m. for all pupils.  Junior and Senior infants finish at 1.40 p.m.

1^st class to 6^th class finish at 2.40 p.m.

Breaks and Recreation

Our weekly allocation of break time is 50 minutes. 

Our weekly allocation of recreation time is 2 hours 30 minutes.

We combine these to create a first break of 15 minutes each day from 10.45 to 11 a.m.  We then have our second break from 12.35 to 1 p.m.

Roll Call and Assembly Time

We have a weekly allocation of 1 hour 15 minutes for roll call and assembly time.

Assembly:    If no general assembly is held we have a class assembly daily at 10.40.  This time is used for class assembly as all pupils have returned to their own class from SET at this time.  We also use the time for Fograí from the office, Siopa na Scoile and as an opportunity for the pupils to have a snack.

Roll Call:  Every classroom has a full list of the pupils on a card and an absence card that is filled out every morning and taken outside in case of a fire in order for us to keep track of all of our pupils whether they are in a mainstream class or a SET room, or a movement break at all times.

All our pupils return from SET or movement breaks at 12.25 for the Leabhar Rolla to be completed.  While the Leabhar Rolla is being completed our pupils can eat their lunch.

Our combined Roll Call and Assembly time is 1 hour 15 minutes in line with the time allocations of the Primary Curriculum Framework.
